POF is a trust originally set up during the period when pastors Peter and Tricia Hindley were ministering regularly into Germany to Lutheran Pastors and churches on the Holy Spirit as the source of Revival. The name stems from the vision for 24/7 Worship and Intercession received by Peter from the Lord in 1990.The whole of the development of the Seaford House of Prayer has been facilitated by Pillars of Fire with believers from a number of local churches,and a great deal of input from our daughter and son-in- Law who have been used to establish the 'One Thing' House of Prayer in Eastbourne.The Trustees are from a variety of different Church backgrounds so that it operates as an inter-church trust in the local area. The concept of houses of prayer as training bases for mission has been part of our thinking for many years. The Celtic church's approach to the re-evangelisation of Europe is a great source of inspiration.
Worship, prayer, intercession, deepening of spirituality, revival in Europe, teaching and preaching on the Holy Spirit, revival, spiritual freedom and inner healing have been the focus of the ministry of Pete and Tric. Alongside this a regular House of Prayer has grown up in Seaford. whilst this remains limited in the amount of time it covers there are signs that it is about to grow. We have helped our daughter and son-in-law in the development of a House of Prayer in Eastbourne involving about 20 churches. A bi-monthly journal named 'Voice in the Wilderness' has also just started, though very much in its infancy..
Areas of teaching have increased to include Contemplative Prayer, Song of Songs, The Cross of Jesus and its application to our lives and other material related to deepening spirituality.
For many years we have been travelling into Germany, teaching and ministering with a word from the Lord to unblock wells, release rivers and light fires in the Holy Spirit. This is part of the fulfillment of the vision for Europe and we are looking to him to show the way forward in this area. Recently the Lord has spoken afresh concerning the establishment of a 24/7 worship and prayer and missionary sending base. As a good friend in the ministry has said, we are doing everything that we can or know how to do in relation to this. If the vision is to be fulfilled then the rest is His problem!!
